I love the geometric patterns found on many traditional pysanky, and have eggs available in these patterns in chicken, duck, goose, and rhea eggs. I also enjoy experimenting and adapting all kinds of designs, using the pysanky techniques. Recently I made a series of eggs using patterns adapted from Mexican talavera pottery. I have been inspired by pieces of fabric, wrapping paper, scrapbook pages, Christmas ornaments, placemats, greeting cards, and even tissue boxes! It seems like everywhere I look I see patterns that would look great on an egg. I hope you enjoy browsing through my gallery.
All eggs are supplied in gift boxes, and with a stand or fitted with a bead cap for hanging. They have been emptied and thoroughly cleaned out so they will last for many years. (I have some I have had for about 40 years, and I know of pysanky much older that that.) Those that are dyed are varnished to protect the dyes, but those that are only etched, with no dye on them, are left unvarnished to show the natural beauty of the egg.
